While in Guayaquil students stay in a dorm at ESPOL (at the beginning and end of the program).
Short programs: winter intersession, spring break and summer classes
Students will be hosted in the institute's dorm rooms. The spacious 2 bed rooms are all fully equipped with private bathroom, hot water, view of either ocean or volcano and are located ½ a block from the beach.
Full semester abroad:
Students will live with a host family. Because very few families speak English, it is preferable that students have at least a minimum level of Spanish.
The style of living in Galapagos is very basic. Be prepared to encounter a standard you are not used to. To American standards furnishing is spartan and much of life based on the outdoors. (No worries, you will get used to it quickly and learning to be able to live with less is a great experience).
